I ventured out with my coffee and phone to feed this chicks and check on them. It has been a few days since I have posted on the blog. Pup decided to put the water dispenser up on bricks. The chicks were getting it so nasty that it would stop up the water flow. So far it seems to be helping.
Meet Gladys. Gladys is named after Gladys Kravitz from the old Bewitched TV series. Some of you may remember Gladys from it as the completely nosy neighbor. That fits our Gladys to a T. She (although she may end up being a Roo) is our nosy girl. She wants to know everything that is going on with us and all the other chicks. Minding everyone's business is her duty.
She also is the only one who tries to rush the door every time you open it to escape!
She is keeping her eye on you!
This Barred Rock was being friendly this morning. Flew to the top of the old brood box and walked up to me at the door. I'm not sure if she just wanted to investigate me, just say hi or was planning an escape.

The Hibiscus burst into full bloom yesterday just in time for the party.
Pupp did an amazing job rigging this tarp over the deck for the Crawfish Boil last night! I like it so much I wish it could stay up all the time! It won't stay up with bad weather though so it is coming down. At least we know we can put it up if needed!

The deer flies are awful! I think if I ever get free wishes from a magic lamp my first wish will be to exterminate all flies of any sort and wasps/hornet/yellow jackets. They serve no purpose other than to torment people. (me) Just sayin.
